Don't bother looking for leather or fabric anywhere on this seat, and you can forget about metal as well. In fact, the only thing you should be looking for is carbon fiber, because that's all you're going to find in the Arione K:1. The whole seat, rails included, is a carbon-fiber sculpture worthy of a modern art museum, and at 149 grams it practically hovers above your hand when you hold it. It's like the Platonic ideal of a road cycling saddle, stripped to its bare skeleton in a perverse laboratory experiment. Yet, amazingly enough, the Arione K:1 is reasonably comfortable thanks to Fi'zi:k's Wing Flex Technology, which uses strategic gel-filled cutouts to produce forgiveness in the shell itself instead of adding weight with padding.
