Answer Manitou Nixon Elite Suspension 2008 Forks
If your idea of the perfect day begins at the trailhead before the sun gets there, and ends many hours later at a grill and a cooler, the Nixon is your fork. With up to 160mm of travel and a weight some XC forks struggle to beat, the Nixon is an all-mountain phenom. It's got rock-solid 32mm stanchions and a 20mm Hex Lock thru-axle for point-and-shoot steering, a lightweightweight MARS Air spring, and TPC+ damping that soaks up every trail aberration without sucking up your pedaling inputs.
TPC + Position Activated Damping TPC + Position Activated Damping starts with the two independent rebound and compression damping pistons used in our TPC damping system and adds a third piston to automatically change damping to according to the fork’s position in its travel. This position activated damping gives initial low-resistance for small bump sensitivity and adds more damping through the progression of the fork’s stroke to resist bottoming. Additionally, we use a low pressure, high volume system to eliminate cavitation (which leads to compression spikes and stiffening) and heat-related problems.
