Wilderness Mountain Biking - Chilcotin Holidays
Chilcotin Holidays is a 4 Season Licensed Wilderness Operator located in the South Chilcotin Mountains. This favored position produces a "Rainshadow". This means sunny skies and a dry climate that is "almost bug free".
We specialize in Guided Mountain Biking within our 5,000 square km operating area.
We pioneered "guided pack horse-supported mountain bike adventures " in the South Chilcotin Mountains. These multi-day, single-track wilderness bike adventures are guided, and they are done in prime biking areas where there is no conflict with horses and hikers.
We do not do unguided extreme biking.
Our riders cycle free of any panniers and back packs. We transport all your personal gear in and out of camp as well as between camps.
Our guides are trained in wilderness safety, knowledge of the wildlife and mountain trails. The area you will ride in is renowned for its bio-diversity, with vegetation ranging from Douglas fir to alpine tundra. Massive ancient firs give way to trembling aspen and meadows brocaded with an abundance of wild-flowers that bloom May through to Septmeber at their preferred elevations. An outstanding variety of wildlife inhabits our guide area. California Bighorn sheep, moose, Mule deer, Mountain goat, Girzzly, Black bear and wolf are plentiful and frequently sighted.
Chooose from a Ranch based Mountain Bike adventure for beginners or the advanced who do not wish to overnight in an alpine camp, or a Camp based, Level I, II and III Mountain Bike adventure.
A Level I adventure is suitable for the beginner/intermediate with camping experience. Level II is suitable for the intermediate to advanced, with camping experience and uneven terrain. A Level III adventure is for the advanced only, with camping experience and and riding over uneven and steep terrain.
Our adventures are designed so that you can progress through "levels" according to your interests and abilities.
Access in and out of camp is a 6-8 hour ride with elevation changes of up to 1,000m over uneven terrain. Daily itinararies vary according to the level of the trip and group interests.
We recommend riders bring their own bikes.

Tent cabins consist of 10 X 12 "walk about" structures with raised floors. Some of the permanent camps are more developed, with gravity-fed showers, solar lighting and heaters in the tent cabins.
