Originally from Scotland, Brian moved to Burlington, Ontario as a child. At the age of 18, he picked up his first cross-country mountain bike where the addiction of riding began. His love for the sport brought him to the West Coast where he worked at various jobs including as a guide/instructor in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park for 3 years.
