Off-Road Biking in the Rockies
The ranges bordering Banff National Park to the east are mostly overlooked by tourism. As the North Saskatchewan River spills from the mountains into the praire it creates canyons, lakes and flood plains with forests, grasslands and rich wildlife. Native people, fur traders, pioneers, coal miners all left their mark but only few people live here today. Troups of wild horses, descendants of mustangs and work horses abandoned by homesteaders, graze beside the one and only paved highway. The Bighorn Dam has created a picturesque lake at the foot of majestic peaks. This is your playground for the next few days. The variety of terrain, the mountain scenery and easy access are an Eldorado every biker.
