Exciting Times in the Kern River Valley

FRIDAY, 30 JULY 2010

Kernville, California – It is an exciting time for cycling in the Kern River Valley (KRV)! The first dedicated Bike Shop, the USA headquarters of an international bike brand, and the Kernville Chamber of Commerce are all working together to build the insane new non profit KV Bike Park and see the KRV grow to its maximum potential for cycling.

The KV Bike Park boasts seven acres of bike bliss, with an NBL (National Bicycle League) sanctioned BMX track (you must hold an NBL license to ride the BMX track), a HUGE pump Track with a berm/wall ride, Mountain Bike Skills zones, Trials zones, a Jump/slope-style zone and a single track loop with fun features and berms with optional skills and stunts along the way, all free to use and open to the public dawn to dusk daily. You are required to become a Member of the KV Bike Park to ride, which is free, but donations are highly encouraged and appreciated. Get your Membership at RIDE KRV Bike Shop. The grand opening is slated for August 21st with music, races and Demo shows at the KV Bike Park During the day and a Fund Raiser BBQ/Party to finish off the evening.

The local energy, excitement and support for the KV Bike Park is astounding, with masses of local donors kicking in everything from time, sweat, dirt and heavy equipment to thousands of dollars, all to help see this dream become a reality. The KV Bike Park is a 501c3 Non-Profit and runs on fundraiser events, donations and sponsorships, contributions are Tax deductible. If interested in becoming a sponsor or donating please contact KV Bike Park president Paul Ferguson 760-376-8600 or treasurer Chris Brayman 760-223-6165. Come see what the beautiful and unique KRV has to offer. World Class mountain biking & whitewater, a sick Bike Park, just about every outdoor activity you can think of, incredible Brewery, great food, accommodations, as well as many specialized and all basic services. Its a great place for the whole family and likely the last great under-discovered gems of Southern California.
