Epic Tucson, the newest in the epicRIDES virtual cycling video series has been released by epicPLANET.tv. Epic Tucson includes virtual bicycle rides of two of Tucson, Arizona's most scenic and challenging cycling routes: the climb of Mt. Lemmon and the loop road in Saguaro National Park - East. This epicRIDES release will be the first ever two ride, two disk release in the virtual ride video market and offer riders almost two hours of total training time. It sets a new standard for virtual ride DVD releases. The climb of Mt. Lemmon virtual ride follows three female competitive riders from the Summit Velo Racing Team based in Tucson, Az. on an almost 4,000 foot climb up the Mt. Lemmon Highway to Windy Point and gives virtual riders 70 total training hard climbing minutes. Many professional riders including Lance Armstrong are known to use the Mt. Lemmon climb to get their climbing legs in shape. The loop road of Saguaro National Park - East is an exhilarating, 45 minute roller coaster bicycle ride with members of the Cactus Cycling Club in the gorgeous Sonoran desert east of the city. This ride includes a 30 minute rolling hills section with numerous short interval climbs with a long 10 minute climb in the middle. Both rides are popular haunts of cyclists from around the world interested in escaping the cold and snow of northern regions. "If you want to escape the tedium and boredom of your indoor trainer, then these two rides in the beautiful Sonoran Desert around Tucson are just what you need," says Producer/Director, Allen Jones. Epic Tucson sells for $29.95 and is available as a DVD package or a Digital Download on the www.epicPLANET.tv web site. It is available as a DVD on Amazon.com and at select retailers around the U.S. epicRIDES virtual ride videos are filmed on truly epic cycle routes in scenic locations around the world, using local cyclists as riders. epicRIDES are edited to an original music score and include an on-screen digital dashboard showing terrain profile, ride time, average grade, and suggested training zone. The video's interface is clean, simple and elegant, so as to not detract from the beautiful scenery in the rides. "Our idea is to deliver a virtual ride that is an enjoyable, yet challenging experience that provides cyclists training indoors the diversity, motivation and guidance they want in an indoor training video," said epicPLANET.tv Producer/Director, Allen Jones. All epicRIDES come with downloadable Training Guide with several different workouts that tie in with the video's informative digital dashboard. epicRIDES virtual ride videos are for use by avid cyclists training indoors at home, for indoor cycling and Spinning classes, and for major indoor cycling events. These videos are shot in the wide-screen 16:9 aspect ratio which makes them perfect for wide-screen high definition TV sets. According to Jones, "As winter takes its grip on the northern climates many serious cyclists turn to indoor cycling to keep their legs and lungs in shape over the long winter months. But after a while, indoor cycling gets boring and tedious. This was the inspiration behind epicRIDES - to give indoor cyclists the opportunity ride to great rides around world while they train. So when an indoor rider needs a break from those hard core training videos they can now take challenging epicRIDES to a place they’ve never been and enjoy what we feel is a virtually amazing experience!"
