Wildomar, Calif. - Charging out of Adelaide, South Australia and joining the already powerful Monster Energy-Specialized gravity program is 16-year-old Troy Brosnan.

Brosnan has been blazing tracks all over Australia and opened some eyes at this year's Crankworx Festival where he left his tracks all over Whistler, B.C. Brosnan not only possesses the skills and speed it takes to be a to
p gravity athlete, but he's already quite media savvy. Sam Hill has also vouched for Troy which says a lot in itself, saying: "Troy is the real deal."

"Earlier this year, Sam mentioned that I should meet this kid that had come out to his place to ride. Once I met Troy at Crankworx, it felt like we had to somehow add him onto the roster said Sean Heimdal, Monster Energy-Specialized Team Manager. Being only 16, Troy is already showing that he’s a turn-key athlete with his competitive nature, training ethics, determination, and he's great with the media."

Heimdal continued: "Monster Energy and Specialized have really stepped up in supporting the future of our sport by giving us the tools to support Troy as a future star in the sport. Both Bobby Behan (Specialized Sports Marketing Manager) and myself are committed to giving Troy all the tools needed to perform at the highest level."

Adds Brosnan: "I am really stoked about being on a Monster Energy-Specialized bike for 2010! It's a bike that I have always thought looked sweet, so to be able to ride one at World Cups will be fantastic. Specialized is giving me the best bikes to perform on, along with the fact they're kitted with SRAM components will make the bikes that much sweeter. In 2010 my goals are to place in the top 30 at a World Cup, win the Junior World Champs and to continue to have fun riding my bike. I am so excited about being on the Monster Energy-Specialized team for 2010 as I believe that it will give me the best chance of fulfilling my dream of being number one in the world."

Brosnan capped things off by adding, "To be able to hang out with Sam and Brendan and learn from two of the world's best riders - that will be priceless!"

In the coming months, look out for Troy at your local Australian tracks before joining both Hill and Brendan Fairclough in their efforts to dominate the 2010 UCI World Cup Series, U.S. Open, Sea Otter Classic and select events around the globe. Don't be shy and stop by the Monster Energy-Specialized Team tent for an autograph, ice cold Monster Energy, or check out the latest bikes from Specialized!

We'd like to thank the following companies for their continued support: Monster Energy, Specialized Bicycles, Mad Catz, SRAM, Truvativ, Rock Shox, Avid, SDG, FUNN, Troy Lee Designs, Alligator, Cane Creek, Crank Brothers, DT Swiss, e-thirteen, Five Ten, Maxima, Obtainium, Freestyle, Kicker, KMC. Epic Tucson, the newest in the epicRIDES virtual cycling video series has been released by epicPLANET.tv. Epic Tucson includes virtual bicycle rides of two of Tucson, Arizona's most scenic and challenging cycling routes: the climb of Mt. Lemmon and the loop road in Saguaro National Park - East. This epicRIDES release will be the first ever two ride, two disk release in the virtual ride video market and offer riders almost two hours of total training time. It sets a new standard for virtual ride DVD releases. The climb of Mt. Lemmon virtual ride follows three female competitive riders from the Summit Velo Racing Team based in Tucson, Az. on an almost 4,000 foot climb up the Mt. Lemmon Highway to Windy Point and gives virtual riders 70 total training hard climbing minutes. Many professional riders including Lance Armstrong are known to use the Mt. Lemmon climb to get their climbing legs in shape. The loop road of Saguaro National Park - East is an exhilarating, 45 minute roller coaster bicycle ride with members of the Cactus Cycling Club in the gorgeous Sonoran desert east of the city. This ride includes a 30 minute rolling hills section with numerous short interval climbs with a long 10 minute climb in the middle. Both rides are popular haunts of cyclists from around the world interested in escaping the cold and snow of northern regions. "If you want to escape the tedium and boredom of your indoor trainer, then these two rides in the beautiful Sonoran Desert around Tucson are just what you need," says Producer/Director, Allen Jones. Epic Tucson sells for $29.95 and is available as a DVD package or a Digital Download on the www.epicPLANET.tv web site. It is available as a DVD on Amazon.com and at select retailers around the U.S. epicRIDES virtual ride videos are filmed on truly epic cycle routes in scenic locations around the world, using local cyclists as riders. epicRIDES are edited to an original music score and include an on-screen digital dashboard showing terrain profile, ride time, average grade, and suggested training zone. The video's interface is clean, simple and elegant, so as to not detract from the beautiful scenery in the rides. "Our idea is to deliver a virtual ride that is an enjoyable, yet challenging experience that provides cyclists training indoors the diversity, motivation and guidance they want in an indoor training video," said epicPLANET.tv Producer/Director, Allen Jones. All epicRIDES come with downloadable Training Guide with several different workouts that tie in with the video's informative digital dashboard. epicRIDES virtual ride videos are for use by avid cyclists training indoors at home, for indoor cycling and Spinning classes, and for major indoor cycling events. These videos are shot in the wide-screen 16:9 aspect ratio which makes them perfect for wide-screen high definition TV sets. According to Jones, "As winter takes its grip on the northern climates many serious cyclists turn to indoor cycling to keep their legs and lungs in shape over the long winter months. But after a while, indoor cycling gets boring and tedious. This was the inspiration behind epicRIDES - to give indoor cyclists the opportunity ride to great rides around world while they train. So when an indoor rider needs a break from those hard core training videos they can now take challenging epicRIDES to a place they’ve never been and enjoy what we feel is a virtually amazing experience!"

Missoula, Montana - Adventure Cycling Association - North America's largest cycling membership organization - is pleased to announce the winners of its 2009 Pacesetter, Bike Shop, Trail Angel, and Volunteer of the Year awards.

"There is an extraordinary community of people, groups, and shops who make the life of the traveling cyclist easier and more fulfilling," said Jim Sayer, executi
ve director of Adventure Cycling. "Our awards single out some of leaders in this community in order to honor their contributions and to raise awareness about how bicycle travel is making the United States a better, friendlier, and more connected country."

The June Curry Trail Angel Award goes to Bill and Nancy Nix of Knox, North Dakota. This couple has created a haven for cyclists willing to take a 15-mile detour off of Adventure Cycling’s Northern Tier Route. Upon arrival, cyclists are offered a spot to sleep in the bunkhouse that Bill built, which includes 4 beds, a dining room, and a living room area. They are also treated to a hot shower, as well as good meals and conversation. Bill and Nancy offer advice on the local roads, and a plethora of other amenities and assistance.

The Pacesetter Award has been presented to Richard Moeur of Phoenix, Arizona, for his longstanding commitment to bicycle travel and his efforts to put the U.S. Bicycle Route System (USBRS) at the forefront of transportation planning in the U.S. His knowledge of the inner workings of the national transportation network, and his passion for the idea of an interstate bicycle route system, has helped to guide the USBRS planning process. Richard's guidance was instrumental in leading to the approval of the USBRS Corridor Plan by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials' board of directors in October 2008.

The Sam Braxton Bicycle Shop Award goes to Bikes@Vienna in Vienna, Virginia, recognizing their passion for sharing the local area with cyclists and the amazing services that they offer cyclists of all abilities traveling in the Washington D.C. area. As fierce proponents of full access, they offer cycling gear for all levels of rider and persons with physical disabilities. They are involved in the local community in a variety of ways, sponsoring several rides throughout the year. The owner, John Brunow, works hard to promote bicycle travel, and cycling in general, and to create positive change in his community by being an engaged, local leader.

Adventure Cycling's Volunteer of the Year Award goes to Charlotte Dadabay from Missoula, Montana, for her outstanding and timely volunteer efforts with Adventure Cycling's membership department this fall. During what could have been a difficult and stressful transition time at Adventure Cycling, Charlotte stepped in to help keep our membership processing running smoothly.

Adventure Cycling recognized all of the winners and thanked them for their efforts with a framed certificate, a complimentary membership to the organization, a pair of shoes from Keen, and 5 pounds of coffee from 53x11.

Adventure Cycling is always on the look out for bicycle travel heroes. If you would like to know more about past winners and how to nominate your hero, visit www.adventurecycling.org/awards.
