Dumfries to Host World Mountain Bike Conference

Dumfries has won the rights to host the 2008 World Mountain Bike Conference on Sustainability.
The Scottish county has fought off various competitors from across the globe to host the said event, which will be held between September 17 and 19 next year. This is the first time the conference will be held outside of Canada.
Conference is expecting about 400 delegates and will feature about 700 world class athletes in the field of mountain biking representing 50 countries to vie for 19 titles.
The much awaited event is expected to garner 1.3 million pounds in profits and will no doubt boosts Scottish economy as well as establishe the country as the new international mountain biking center.
