Mountain Bike Park, In Store in Terrace

THURSDAY, 24 MAY 2007

A mountain bike park that could rival those in big cities like Vancouver is in store for the biking community in Terrace.

Jay Hoots, a veteran mountain park designer, has visited the future site of the Terrace's mountain bike park last week. Hoots, a former competitive mountain bike racer for eight years was brought in by the Terrace Off Road Cycling Association. He has built mountain bike parks in Canmore, Vancouver, and Burns Lake.

Starting at Haugland Avenue, the park would go through Tetrault Street to Graham Avenue. Elevation changes and series of obstacles are just some of the features of the mountain bike park area. Development work will start on June 6.
