Twenty US Riders to Compete in World Cup Opener

Nine men and 11 women American riders will be competing in the first round of the 2007 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup this weekend at Houffalize, Belgium.
The 2007 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, which is a major international event, has drawn 245 elite men riders and 128 elite women riders. "Racing internationally at World Cups is a vital component to any athlete's development," said Matt Cramer, USA Cycling Mountain Bike Development Director.
The American riders who are set to compete on Sunday are Todd Wells, Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski, Adam Craig, Sam Schultz, Jeremiah Bishop, Sam Jurekovic, Michael Broderick, Colin Cares, and Jeff Hall in the men's division. Georgia Gould, Mary McConneloug, Willow Koerber, Shonny Vanlandingham. Heather Irmiger, Kelli Emmett, Sue Haywood, Sara Bresnick, Nina Baum, Heather Svahn, and Kristi Lewis will be competing in the women's division.
