Ussher and Miazga to Defend Coast to Coast Titles
WEDNESDAY, 20 DECEMBER 2006
Defending champions Richard Ussher and Emily Miazga would be starting the 25th anniversary of the multisport Coast to Coast race on February 10.
Ussher, men's division winner for three consecutive years, as well as Miazga, last year's winner in the women's division, will be defending their titles. Elina Rautila, a runner up in the women's division will also be joining the race. Robin Judkins, the race director, said that he is impressed with the "level of entries" and he is hoping for more big names to enter the race.
The Coast to Coast race, a 243 km cycle, mountain run and kayak race will begin in Kumara beach on the West Coast to Sumner in Christchurch. The race has drawn 84 athletes from 14 countries. Athletes can still register until December 31.
