TUESDAY, 28 NOVEMBER 2006
Public listening sessions will be held across California to gather public input from mountain bicyclists and other trail users. The public input will be incorporated in making a mountain bicycle management strategy covering all the 18 national forests in California.
The public listening sessions will be held at Sacramento Area on Nov 30; San Diego on Dec 5; Los Angeles on Dec 6; Redding on Dec 12; and Bay on Dec 14. It is organized by the USDA Forest Service in cooperation with the International Mountain Bike Association.
The mountain bicycle management strategy, as envisioned by the Forest Service, has two parts namely (1) situational assessment that will characterize existing issues and opportunities and (2) implementation toolbox that will provide managers with a number of prescriptions to address issues identified in the situational assessment.
