Zakelj Wins Junior World Mountain Biking Event

The 17 year old Slovenian teenager Tanja Zakelj won the gold medal in the junior women’s cross country in Rotorua. Zakelj who weighs 48kg, completed three laps of grueling course in one hour 18 minutes 23 seconds.
Among the contenders are French rider Julie Krasniak, Nadja Roschi of Switzerland, New Zealand’s top rider Monique Avery and Katherine O’Neil.
Zakelj began mountain biking four years ago and always dreamed of becoming a world champion.
