Australian Mountain Biker Junga Faces Surgery

Australian cyclist Renee Junga faces surgery in Auckland Hospital after suffering a serious spinal injuries at the world mountain biking championships Tuesday.
Junga who was named Australian BMX rider of the year in 2005 is expected to have an operation lasting between four to six hours.
The 20-year-old Queenslander crashed during her training for the four cross BMX-style event after mistiming a jump which causes her a fracture vertebra in the neck, suffered spinal shock and no feeling below the waist.
Four Cross is one of the disciplines of BMX racing where four riders race on a downhill course with a series of turns and jumps.
