World's top riders clash again this August

Sixteen of the world's top riders will be clashing again for the second leg of the 2006 Mountain Biking World Professional Championships on August 12 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
During the first leg of the race held in San Luis Obispo, California, Czech Republic's Michal Prokop and Jill Kintner of Seattle, Washington garnered the top spots in the men and women's division, respectively. Brian Lopes, Eric Carter, Wade Bootes, Mike King, Brian Schmith, and Chris Powell follow Prokop's lead while following Kinner's lead are Melissa Buhl, Tara Llanes, Katrina Miller, Fiona Griffiths, Marla Streb, and Anneke Beerten.
Seven thousand people are expected to watch the race in Elkhart Lake. For this year's championships, the riders will have to race in a daredevil racecourse called "the Y" which has been described as the ultimate format for mountain bike racing.
The final leg will be on September 3 in Beaver Creek, Colorado. The winners in both division will receive the coveted title of World Professional Champion, a $100,000 cash prize, and a 2007 Jeep Compass.
