Join the IMBA Trailbuilding Schools on May 6-7!
WEDNESDAY, 26 APRIL 2006
Come to the Olmstead Design Center in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, New York on May 6-7 for a weekend of learning how to build a sustainable singletrack and a lot more. The International Mountain Biking Association's Trailbuilding School (IMBA) will be heading the event and will include three hours of classroom instruction in the morning. It will then be followed by actual field training and learning trailbuilding techniques in the afternoon at the Cunningham Park's Northwoods Trailhead.
The fieldwork continues the following day, May 7th at the same location from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. For the fieldwork, participants are encouraged to wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts. Aside from that, they are advised to wear sturdy shoes for the rough terrain and sunscreen and hat to protect them from the sweltering afternoon sun. Participants are also urged to bring trailbuilding tools such as pulaskis, McLeods, rakes, picks, hoes and shovels, if they have one.
