NOVA Desert Classic on March 24-26
THURSDAY, 23 MARCH 2006
Expect to see some of the United States top professional and amateur bikers compete in Fountain Hills, Arizona from March 24 to 26 for this year's NOVA Desert Classic.
The two-day competition will be showcasing events both for men and women in the following categories:
- Pro/Expert Stage
- Cross Country
- Marathon
- Super D
While the registration for the competition has already ended, you can still catch the action from the sidelines at the McDowell Regional Park in Fountain Hills. You shouldn't have a hard time getting there as this year's Desert Classic will be held near the metropolitan areas of Phoenix and Scottsdale. It is in line with the commitment of the National Mountain Biking Series NMBS to make mountain biking accessible to urban areas.
The competition was instituted to raise funds for the NOVA Youth Cycling Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit organization that helps in the promotion of mountain biking among the youth through education and the various training, scholarship and mentorship programs.
