it depends on the route you are taking.. for example, are you taking on a curve? down a ledge or up? more details rowena.. its good to ask for advise because as you know, body positioning is very important in mountain biking..

people sometimes forget skills needed when cornering at speed. in my experience, when taking corners, remember to weight back and then put the speed before entering the turn. release the brakes once you enter the turn, but do not let go the levers, lean into the downhill turn, shift your weight back and down into the outside pedal. press down on the inside grip to assist your steer while feeling the weight on your pedal.now, carve the turn by twisting your right ankle a bit. as you carve the apex of the turn, and as soon as you are upright enough for the pedal, turn the speed once again.

it took me awhile to get this thing right but downhill biking really needs correct body position. when doing high speed corners, the center of your body should be on the bike, loose but controlled. i try to watch downhill racers too and see what their body positions are like.. then i try to imitate what they do..

babyheads, sands, and combinations of loose rock and archored bedrock should be taken with less power. its similar to sand. momentum is important, with less brakes, without brakes! keep the gyros than trying to pick a smooth line.

stay loose, stay back a bit, powering the pedals with control. keep your weight back rowena. let the rear end absorb the ground, and do not stiffen your legs. let your legs act as your secondary suspension members.
