Day 1
Our staff will pick you up at Las Palmas airport in Gran Canaria and whisk you away to our accommodation - a colonial villa set in a small village about 15 km/9 miles Northwest of the island`s capital, Las Palmas. In addition to comfortable rooms and great views, our villa offers a swimming pool, sauna, bike and repair room and laundry facilities. Upon arriving at the accommodation, you will have time to relax from your travels, jump in the pool, and get your bike ready for the following days. If you didn`t bring your own bike, we`ll take you to the SCOTT rental station to select from their high quality bikes. After a relaxing afternoon, we`ll kick-off the evening with an appetizer and an info session, followed by a traditional Spanish dinner in the villa.
Day 2
We`ll start the day with a yoga session on the rooftop of the villa so you can learn about the different yoga positions and respiration techniques while overlooking the gorgeous island landscape! Our yoga program is tailored to all abilities and is led by a professional and experienced yoga teacher. After the yoga session and a healthy breakfast, our mountain bike program will begin! We`ll start by doing a full bike check (tires, suspension, saddle and handlebar positions, tuning tips) and then we`ll head to a flat spot to go over some of the technical basics: weight transfer, riding position ,balance, breaks test, switch backs turns etc. Whether you`re a beginner or an experience rider we start with these basics so that we can evaluate your coaching needs. After lunch we`ll head to the nearby national park for a warm-up mountain bike tour. We use four-wheel drive vehicles to ferry us to the trail heads so you can enjoy long downhill runs without the effort of riding to the top! For more information about our coaching program and the various trails we`ll ride please check out the "Guiding/Coaching" and "Trails" sections of our website. After returning from our first mountain bike t
Day 3
Our day will once again begin with a yoga session amid the stunning island landscape. Today`s session will introduce you to the Sun Salutation, one of the standard sequences of yoga. After breakfast at the villa, we`ll kick off the day`s mountain bike program with another technical riding workshop to build on the skills you learned the previous day. Following this we`ll head to the mountains for a 3 hour single track tour where you can implement the elements of the workshop. After a dip in the pool to cool off, we`ll head back to our yoga mats for the afternoon yoga session. This afternoon`s unit will focus on further developing the Sun Salutation and on introducing you to a number of poses that target the legs and groin. After this we`ll hit the showers and then head to the city of Las Palmas for dinner at an authentic Spanish bodega (wine cellar). Those who are tired can then head back to the villa (we`ll run a shuttle back there) while the rest of the group will have the opportunity to enjoy the nightlife of Las Palmas!
Day 4
This day is dedicated to sleeping-in, resting tired muscles, relaxing, shopping, sun-tanning and/or surfing on the beach. We will have an optional yoga unit during the day for those guests who are keen to further develop their yoga skills. A self-guided island roadtrip in a rental car is also highly recommended. Our staff know the region well and will be happy to help you plan your day. For those who want to, we`ll meet again at the villa for dinner, wine and good conversation. Or you might like to head to the village to check out one of the local restaurants.
Day 5
The day will once again begin with a yoga session (focusing on backward and forward bends) followed by a healthy breakfast. After eating we`ll head to the national park for a day of single-track riding. Today we`ll step it up a level by riding some more challenging single trails, and we`ll have another technical workshop along the way. The post-riding yoga session will focus on introducing you to Charkras and twists. In the evening we`ll have another video coaching session, followed by dinner and relaxing in the villa.
Day 6
The day will start with a relatively early yoga session that focuses on the sun salutation, handstand and standing positions. After breakfast we`ll jump in the vehicles and head to yet another area of world-class trails. Like yesterday, we`ll step it up a notch - taking you to some more challenging trails so that you can practice your technical riding. We`ll return to the villa for a well-earned swim, followed by the yoga session, which will focus on balance and meditation. Tonight we`ll have our final video coaching session, followed by dinner and wine in the villa.
Day 7
Our final yoga unit will focus on reviewing all of the poses you have learned during the week. This will be followed by breakfast, and then we`ll attack our final mountain bike tour of the week - a fun but challenging ride that will focus on endurance. After a satisfying ride during which you can show off all your new-found skills, we`ll drive back to the villa for a shower and then head to Las Palmas for dinner in another traditional bodega (wine cellar).
Day 8
Our journey is over! You`ll leave our trip mentally relaxed and physically satisfied, having developed your technical riding, experienced some awesome single-track riding, learned the basics of yoga and made fantastic new friends! Our staff will drive you to Las Palmas airport where you will board your plane. If you chose to extend your journey on the island we can drop you off at any other location in the capital of Las Palmas.
