Mallorca Mountain Biking
The day rides can be varied depending upon the demand from the group, so they can range from Easy to Medium to hard. The following are examples
Easy This tour takes you to the east of Mallorca. The route starts in Cala Millor, accompanied by a wonderful view over the Mediterranean Sea. Crossing the countryside, passing fields and old farms, there is the opportunity to observe the difference between the traditional Mallorca and the more touristic side of the island. The excursion takes you along the old railway route from Manacor to Arta, and further on to the municipality of Son Servera. From there the way back to Cala Millor takes you along the coast.
Medium In the western part of the island, this tour leads through many different aspects of the countryside. You will be taken across the mountains, along the coast, as well as through flat countryside and rural regions. Here you have excellent oppotunities to observe the difference between the modern and traditional Mallorca. On the way you will cross a big river, and travel the region on traditional paths and modern roads. You will get to know the different facets of the island within a small distance.
Hard This excursion takes place in the south face of the Serra de Tramuntana. The highest point of the commune of Bunyola at 819m above sea level is called Penyals d’Honor and borders on the region of “Es Raiguer”, which gives us the possibility to enjoy an excellent view over Palma. The name of Comuna de Bunyola is due to the communal rights that the people of Bunyola had in the past. The main attraction is the thick evergreen oak forest that covers the whole mountain. This forest has left an extraordinary legacy in the form of traditional architecture from the mountain professions.
The ascent goes along a cart track, until you enter the oak forest on an unpaved path that requires a good skill on the mountain bike. After 8km you reach the top. From here you start a fast and twisting downhill that will put your abilities to the test.

This tour leads through the western part of the munipalicity of Manacor. Throughout the ride, you can observe countless examlpes of the rural life in this region. Ride 3 Duration 3 hrs Distance 25km
This excursion takes you through the villages of Sóller, Biniaraix and Fornalutx. The hand of man has adapted this land; streams and terraces have been built to supply the necessities of life to the people that live here, by growing olive, orange, lemon, carob and many other trees. The legacy from other ancient cultures has left an indelible print on the style and type of building. The valley of Sóller is really something else inside the island of Mallorca, due to its abrupt landscape and character of their people. Medium Rides Ride 1 Duration 3hrs Distance 32km
This journey consists of two very different sectors:
The first one proceeds mostly along a path that lays parallel to a stream, sometimes crossing it, and sometimes even going through it. Its flora and fauna, and the water exploitations give the countryside a characteristic shape that you can find in many other places on the island.
The second sector starts at the village of Es Capdellà, after taking the old cart path that used to join this village with the Finca of Galatzó. From here the journey continues on soil and asphalt, until you reach Paguera and afterwards Santa Ponsa, the beginning and end of this excursion.
Ride 2 Duration 3hrs Distance 35km
You will spend the day riding along cart tracks that used to join the villages of Sta Maria, Muro, Sineu, Inca, Costitx… where you can see some farms that still have in their fields the very appreciated Majorcan home-grown pork. Possibility to have a barbeque lunch at a picnic area. On Wednesdays you can visit the street market in the village of Sineu.
Ride 3 Duration 5hrs Distance 51km
This excursion takes place in the eastern part of Majorca, where from Manacor you will ride towards the coast and along the beautiful Cales de Mallorca. You have the opportunity to see beautiful country houses, small villages like Son Macià, and unspoilt coves where there is no construction of hotels.
Harder Rides
Ride 2 Duration 4hrs Distance 40km
This excursion takes place in the Serra de Tramuntana, on the northeast slope of the island. The first sector goes along an old paved cart track that used to join the Monastery of Lluc with the village of Pollença. This 700 hundred-year-old and 14km long path crosses the Fincas (country houses) of Menut, Binifaldó and Muntanya, always uphill before we reach 700m above sea level. Then starts the second sector, from the Coll de Sa Batalla until Caimari, by the south face of peak Massanella (1300m). Although at the beginning you start by going slightly uphill, the rest of the route is a fast downhill along a wide cart track, except at the end part of it, which changes into an asphalt road down to Caimari.
Ride 3 Duration 4hrs Distance 20km
This is one of the classic mountain bike rides in Majorca. Right in the middle of the Serra de Tramuntana, Es Teix offers you the possibility to ride at heights of 900m, with fabulous views to the north and south sides of the island. Historical characters that loved the Mallorcan natural environment, such as King Sancho or Archduke Luis Salvador, have left their mark, not only on the paths that thanks to them were paved, but also in the books that they wrote, describing the culture and traditions of the people of the island. Altogether Es Teix is an unbeatable place for practicing mountain biking. The long and steep ascent to Es Cairats is rewarded with impressive sights and a spectacular downhill to Valldemossa.
