Mountain Edge is based at the Family run Hotel Tyrol in Kitzbühel. It is only a minute walk from the town centre and provides a comfortable stay with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The area around the historic town of Kitzbühel is ideally suited for mountain biking. The season runs from mid May to October with either spring or Autumn deals making a visit out of season well worth while. . Indeed some of the best riding conditions can be found later in the season. Trails range from gentle tracks in the valleys, to a network of cross country mountain trails and a selection of forest freeride tracks.
Daily rides will be tailored to your fitness and off road abilities with technical riding advice given on harder sections of track. We have it all here! From downhill freaks to valley cruisers there are numerous routes to guarantee you a great stay in the area.
For those of you who don`t fancy the uphill ride, a choice of 3 gondolas can take you and your bike 900 m out of the valley for a multitude of mountain top rides with great views. Once on top you have a choice of steady descents on forest gravel roads or a large variety of sustained flowing technical single track back to the valley. Sounds good eh!

Kitzbühel is well known for the most feared downhill ski race on the Ski world cup circuit. In summer its reputation is built on the beautiful surroundings and almost non stop series of events that make sure the town is always buzzing and full of life.
The town centre dates back to medieval times and is the perfect back drop to what is now a lively destination with plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Popular bars such as "Brass Monkeys" and Kitzbühels Irish bar "Flannigans" make sure that there is plenty of things to do once the sun goes down.
On those all important rest days there is plenty of things to do and see in the area surrounding Kitzbühel. Organised excursions to beautiful cities and beauty spots can easily be arranged. Visit Salzburg, the birth place of Mozart. The beer halls of Munich await you in Bavarians capital city. So does a day trip to the nearby Tirolean capital of Innsbruck.
For nature lovers there is also plenty to see in the wonderful Kitzbüheler Alps. A must see is Austrias highest mountain, Grossglockner. View the peak at nearly 4000m and walk down onto the glacier. Also nearby are the impressive Krimml waterfalls with the highest vertical drop of any in Europe.

Guiding and rides are organised once you are in Kitzbühel. You get to choose the pace and we find the routes. Or join us on our weekly specials. "Lake for Cake" is a relaxing ride out to the nearby Schwarzsee lake for a drink before a dip in the lake. Friday evening is set aside for the "Sunset tour" where we take the evening gondola up to the Hahnenkamm mountain before heading down with the stunning setting of the "Wilder Kaiser" mountains by sunset.
For the more experienced riders the Ehrenbach Freeride trail and many other singletrack routes are just the thing to get the adrenaline pumping!
An experienced guide can help you find the trails that suit your riding. This leaves you to concentrate fully on not only your technique but also the scenery. The perfect way to make the most of your time in the area.
