Tirol Trails
Mayrhofen is located deep in the beautiful Austrian Alps and offers miles and miles of challenging singletrack from your doorstep. It is the main resort town in the Tirol valley area and provides a fantastic location, close to nature but with plenty of shops and bars to keep you amused when the sun goes down. The scenery is spectacular with fresh mountain lakes, snow capped peaks and lush forests offering up some of the best trails in the European Alps.
This is a crosscountry/ trail riding holiday but we utilise the local gondola uplift network to make the most of the terrain and provide you with some unforgettable rides. From the top of the cable cars, we will ride further and higher into the mountains to some of the most breathtaking scenery in the European Alps. This guarantees that every day ends in a monumental down hill back to the guest house.
There will be four fully guided rides offered on this holiday with an option of a final day ‘farewell blast’ for those feeling up to it. All lift passes and transfer costs for these rides are included which you can also use on your days off to see a bit more of the area, visit another local village or retrace the previous day’s ride. Each day we include a pass to the local swimming baths so you can cool off and relax after each ride if you so wish.
If on your days off, you don’t want to relax and take it easy then there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied. Rock climbing and hiking are popular in the area along with paragliding and you could even get in some unseasonal skiing on the Hintertux Glacier where euipment can be hired on the day.
Accommodation is included in the holiday price with single sex shared rooms for up to three single travellers or small groups. Single room suppliments are also available upon request at the time of booking.

| Day 1 |
Arrive at Salzburg airport and transfer to Mayrhofen in time to meet the RTW staff and settle into our guest house before the first day's riding.

| Day 2 |
Your first ride in the Austrian Alps. We will take the gondola into the mountains above Mayrhofen and start the ride with an extra 3500ft. to our advantage, allowing us to make the most of the terrain on offer. We will then climb further and higher into the mountains to some of the most breathtaking scenery in the European Alps and get stuck into to the excellent singletrack. Today's ride doesn't have much climbing but the terrain is technical and challenging. It'll leave you gagging for more of Austria's off road delights.

| Day 3 |
We switch to the opposite side of the valley today and head North. Tough climbs, flowing singletrack, great views of the Tirol Valley and what could be the most memorable part of the trip: Switchback City! The descent back into Mayrhofen consists of around fifty switchbacks, all different, all very narrow!

| Day 4 |
Relax in the local swimming baths, take a look around the local area or hop back on the gondolas for more riding or even a bit of hiking.

| Day 5 |
Ride number three. We're heading South on the brand new Ahornbahn lift straight from town. There's some amazing scenery and awesome singletrack up at the top and all the way down. Don't forget your camera! Later on, gaze back up the mountain side and try and pick out the trails you've just ridden from the comfort of a bar.

| Day 6 |
Ride number four. We'll take you on the best ride of the week to truly round off a holiday to remember. Up and over the top of the Penkan with fast Alpine singletrack, rocky descents and of course your daily dose of switchbacks!

| Day 7 |
Your last chance to have a look round the local area with your transport pass, retrace your favourite ride or your guide can take you on a short local ride using the Penkan lift.

Transfer to Salzburg airport.
