Mavic is all about a love of cycling which leads to the designing and manufacturing of great products that offer a real difference when you ride them.
In order to build great bicycle products you have to know what's happening at the sharp end of cycling. Working with teams and bicycle manufacturers does give us high visibility but importantly it gives us the opportunity to fine tune product and to sniff out new trends.
All of our products go through the same process: From ideas to early prototypes, project group management, design, extensive testing in the field and in the labs. Production or assembly with 100% of wheels finished by hand.
1994 : Mavic joins The Salomon Group which consists the brands Salomon, Taylor Made and Bonfire.
Making great products comes first of all from knowing that some idea really could work or could really make a difference - then having the self belief to design, build, test and then market it.
While of course our objective as a company is to be profitable, a company is run by people. And at Mavic, there is a fervour for riding; whether it's at lunchtime with the steady stream of bikes leaving for the one hour ride, or for one of many organised events at the week-end. Cycling remains a year round passion and a prime motivator for us in our day to day work.
The Mavic brand has gained a certain notoriety all around the world. This may be due in part to our presence at races and the neutral assistance programme in general.
You may have seen our very visible yellow cars at events like the Tour de France or La Vuelta or even the Olympic Games. (For more info, check out the section on racing/assistance.)
And given that the Yellow car and MTB assitance programmes occupy more than 500 working days every year for us - we know what's going on
2001 : Mavic is now settled in an unique facility : Annecy Design Center.
