MTB Festival @ Huangshan World Heritage Site
China is growing more and more important on the world stage. Beijing will host the summer Olympics in 2008 and all sports including cycling undergo dynamic and fast developments. `er ling ling ba` (2008) is the year all Chinese look forward to and aim their dreams towards.
On April 15 the first ever MTB festival in China takes place in Huangshan and the villages Hongcun and Xidi, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Huangshan is a spectacular mountain portrayed in numerous traditional Chinese paintings and those of you who have seen the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon might also be familiar with some of the environments and the traditional villages, as parts of the film were shot here.
This will be the unique scenery for our MTB Marathon, a 90 km race and our 25 km MTB XC fun ride. The UCI promised to be present and to hold an eye on the race. This breath-taking but challenging environment will offer the riders an experience unlike any other. The races are open for everyone, elites and amateurs, men and women, Chinese and foreigners although it might be hard for you to sign up for the Chinese National Championships which take place within our event.
This event is organized by Nordic Ways, a company producing and promoting ski and cycling events throughout China, in cooperation with the Chinese Cycling Association and the Huangshan government.
This event for riders, clubs, families and friends combines top sport with a taste of Chinese culture. We offer different travel packages according to everyone`s needs and wants and we give you the opportunity to further explore China with roundtrips and visits to Shanghai and Hangzhou, the city of silk. The programme, travel packages, conditions and details can be found on the website and all your questions or email your remarks to us.
Have a good day, dieter
